A Newbie!

Hello! I’m the Saucy Mama, newest member of the Contessa’s team.  I’m very excited to be writing for the Saucy Contessa, and you all will be seeing me here a lot.  Right off the bat, I’d like to make a confession. I don’t know much about hot sauce. I know, it’s quiet shameful really.   Currently my knowledge is limited to Sriracha, which I use copiously on everything.

The Contessa on the other hand, is a hot sauce guru. The shop is packed with dozens of varieties, ready for tasting.  So, when I took on this job I said, “Hey, Contessa, if you had NEVER had hot sauce before, what would you recommend for a beginner?”
The Contessa thought. She put her glasses low on her nose.  Then she said “Ok, this one.” and then, “And this one, this one and this one.”  I came away with four sauces to try, and try them I will.

Over the next couple of days, I’m going to try all four of them (I’m trying to think of a dish that to prepare to try with each of them, so all’s fair. I’m thinking scrambled eggs.) I’m going to share my results here, with you!  I’m going to immerse myself in hot sauce culture and share everything I find here.

I’d love to know what your sauces are, and any suggestions you might have for dishes. Now, I’m off to the farmers’ market to buy food that is good with hot sauce.  I see how this works already!
